Maui County, Hawaii
Nov 02, 2024

Project Overview

The Maui County Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) has awarded a four-year contract to Genasys Inc. to implement two advanced software platforms—Genasys EVAC and Traffic AI by Ladris—across all islands in Maui County. These platforms will enhance disaster preparedness by providing flexible evacuation zone planning, AI-powered traffic modeling, multi-threat planning, and an emergency alert mobile app, enabling data-driven evacuation decisions and improved public safety

Key Features

• Intelligent Evacuation Zones: Genasys EVAC rapidly identifies precise areas for evacuation, facilitating clear notifications and warnings, including evacuation and shelter-in-place updates. • Location-Based Notifications: The Genasys Protect mobile app delivers real-time, location-specific alerts to residents, keeping them informed during emergencies. • AI-Powered Traffic Modeling: Traffic AI provides real-time traffic data and analytics, enabling emergency managers to coordinate evacuations effectively and ensure safe, clear routes for evacuees. • Multi-Threat Planning and Modeling: The integrated system supports planning for various emergency scenarios, enhancing overall disaster preparedness. • Collaborative Implementation: Deployment, expected to begin in January 2025, involves input from fire, police, dispatchers, state partners, and other stakeholders to tailor evacuation zones and communication tools to local needs.
